Worship is the Start but Not the Finish

I worship quite a bit. I’m in the secret place. I talk about the secret place a lot but people think worship alone will awaken people, equip them, convict them, change them, or send them but it’s just the start & the foundation for all of the above.

I’ve seen so many worship movements start that don’t preach, teach, or disciple people about things that matter or issues that society is trying to enforce. So many founders, leaders, & movements fall into sin, stop, leave their version of the faith, etc. because of the lack of application of the rest of the Word.

Here’s some things about worship & the body of Christ that will help.

1. We don’t have enough worship…wait a second, you just said worship isn’t everything…I did…but it’s the foundation to revelatory reading, the Spirit of God convicting us, and the power of the Holy Spirit empowering us….if someone is in any kind of ministry I’d suggest at least 45 min to an hr consistently.

    2. Worship gets us into the presence but the Word & discipleship gets us to look like Him. Even though I’m in the presence of God & even the Word…other preachers & mentors see things I don’t. I see things in the Word I didn’t see a year ago. I get convicted about things I didn’t a year ago. I need the Word & mentors to help me see where I don’t see. God uses people & the Word.

      3. Worship can Soothe us but only the Word Will Deliver Us.

In 1 Samuel 16:14-23 David’s worship soothed Saul from his demons but it never delivered him. He eventually tried to kill David.

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.””
        ‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

        4. True Worship Aligns Us With Truth

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”
          ‭‭John‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Even in Worship, the Holy Spirit brings things in our lives that need our attention.

“This sounds contrary to what you were saying Greg”…it’s not. The typical mindset about worship is that it’s just really nice & all lovey dovey in some circles. I’m saying, when I’m in the secret place, God brings to my attention His Word I’VE READ or HEARD from mentors or preaching.

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
          ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26

          5. Jesus made followers of Him more than just worshippers

            Whatttttt!!!!

Yes! Jesus asked (and still is asking) for followers. So much in the church is geared to get people into church or the expression of worshipping more than actually making people followers of Christ.

Worship CONNECTS us to the Lord, HEALS us from war, & EMPOWERS us to follow Christ. Most ministries end all goal is to get people into being worshippers or attending members more than followers.

Jesus was baptized in water, was filled with the Holy Spirit, & worshipped Himself…so we should to…He also made disciples, healed the sick, cast out demons, preached, loved, etc…He wants followers.

Look, I hope you hear me, I worship on my own & teach people about the secret place more than most I know. I am simply saying the secret place is the engine, the beginning place, that empowers us to follow Christ in everything else.

I even believe there are new sounds & worship movements God wants back into place…it just needs to have the Spirit & the truth

            Love you guys

Humility is like our Heavenly Father. Jesus was God but didn’t ask for worshippers, He asked for followers of His Ways which were just His Fathers for an example for us. That’s humility.
