I may not even get a lot of agreement with this post but it’s needed.

Humility is like our Heavenly Father. Jesus was God but didn’t ask for worshippers, He asked for followers of His Ways which were just His Fathers for an example for us. That’s humility.

Jesus asked for less honor or “praise” than supposed men of God today but this isn’t a judgment to them but a warning to every one of us.

I think the goal seems to be popular or “great” more than Christ in this day. He withdrew Himself when they started to get numerous or talk about making Him king.

Remember, the devil always appeals to our flesh. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life. (1 John 2:16)

Some things that may help:

1. It’s more desirable to be served than to serve but let us serve

2. Humility seems like the weak road but it’s the God road.

Yes! We may be crucified but He will exalt us if we humble ourselves.

3. Humility is the fruit of being with Jesus. The fruit of the Spirit isn’t just good doctrines in Galatians 5:22 but realistic results from spending time with Jesus.

Putting our needs before others, needing honor, not apologizing or being wrong, boasting, having a judgemental attitude, lack of gratitude, stubbornness, resentment, inability to receive correction, dishonesty, revenge, isolation, etc are fruits of pride.

In a world full of pain it’s hard not to do what everyone else does, in using pride as a self-protection mechanism, but let us choose humility.

    4. It’s Most Likely Opposite to Your Training – worldly, even Christian leaders live a narcissistic life to protect themselves or their image rather than just ministering to others.

Do we try to come across right or try to minister to those who are broken? Do we strive to vindicate ourselves or teach our enemies a lesson do we forgive & bless our enemies?

      5. It Doesn’t Feel Safe at First but God is Our Protector – He is our defense. Yes, draw boundaries & contact authorities if necessary but vindication comes from the Lord.

Honestly, it takes longer than we would like but He has a Way!

        6. You Attract God’s Favor

God resists the Proud but gives grace to the humble. David attracted God’s miraculous help but Saul needed man’s approval. Saul was taken out, and David fulfilled all in his generation (Acts 13:36)…it will be the same with us.

          7. Increased Wisdom…since the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, it causes us to park our ways of responding to situations & allows His Ways to be prioritized. This is wisdom…not my will but Your Will be done. His wisdom is hewn in humility – James 3:17

          8. Humility Promotes Better Relationships– although the devil taunts us of unsafe lives, humility (God’s plan for good relationships) fosters intimate & long-lasting relationships…it attracts the blessing of God ☝☝☝

          9. Leadership Capacities – Humility is a key trait of great leaders. It allows others to trust and follow them, knowing they are servant-hearted and others-focused (Mark 10:43-44).

Not only that, it gives you the ability to be patient and flex with different personality types, other than your own. It makes you appreciate and realize that other personalities and capabilities can be a strength instead of a weapon formed against you.

            10. Humility Gives You Peace of Mind. A humble person is free from the constant need to prove themselves. This helps us keep inner peace and contentment (Matthew 11:29, 1 Timothy 6:6)

            11. Greater Intimacy – Humility draws you closer to God. A humble heart NEEDS & is connected to His presence and guidance (Isaiah 66:2).

            12. Protection from Falling in Sin – when we are in pride, God lets us fall. Proverbs 16:18 says it leads to destruction. Always remember He is behind everything good, every strength in leadership, gift, promotion, etc lest our hearts use these for self-validation.

            13. Pain & Pride are always power twins…if there is pride, it’s because there is pain or fear that has convinced its owner to COVER themselves with Pride rather than His presence.

Please please please, let’s deal with pain in His presence, therapy, etc instead of reaching out to the wrong way for a right need.

              Love you guys

Love one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.”
              ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,”
              ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV

Worship is the Start but Not the Finish

I worship quite a bit. I’m in the secret place. I talk about the secret place a lot but people think worship alone will awaken people, equip them, convict them, change them, or send them but it’s just the start & the foundation for all of the above.
