God wants to speak to you! About your situation, your family, your delay, your destiny, & so much more. Here are some things to remember to position your heart to hear from God.
1) God wants to communicate with every person (that means you)
The Spirit of God was promised (& has come) to come on every person. He is the voice of God! We just have to position ourselves to believe this.
In the Old Testament, only a few sovereign individuals would hear from God but in the New Testament, Every Believer hears from God.
Remember, everything in our covenant is applied by faith, not by experience…everyone who heard the voice of God heard Him for the first time. The different Miracles that took place were the first time they took place….so many times we justify our unbelief by what we haven’t heard, felt, or seen but it’s by faith in the fact God wants to communicate to every single person! And that’s you!

2. God has created me for a close relationship with Him.
God made this world for us! But we sinned & gave a perfect world to an evil murderer named Satan. Jesus had to pay to redeem us back – Colossians 1:13
Adam knew an intimate Father but when he sinned an intimate Father became a far-off of God.
The whole purpose Jesus came was to reconcile us back to the Father. He’s our Father. Making A FAMILY. He’s a Family God. He wants a family. He was the happiest Father when you were born & mostly born again.

3. We Can’t Have Any Skin in the Game
When we want things to happen for us, don’t want things taken (out of His Will things), or don’t want to do things for Him we limit His voice & our destinies.
I’ve heard statements like “God would want me to have this” or “God’s okay with this in my life,” which are predisposed arguments for things we want or have in our lives. These statements can refer to attitudes, actions, relationships, money, sin, or good things we believe we need, and we use them to comfort ourselves.
I find people in cyclical patterns due to these mindsets. God isn’t going to force His Way or His voice when we are stubborn.
If you want to hear from God regarding problems in your life, your marriage, your family, or your country, you can’t be easily triggered, stubborn, or have a biased interest in what God should do, want to do, or will do. Otherwise, we will end up prophesying to ourselves.
Now hear me, if you want to keep cyclical patterns, sin in your life, your ways, etc & not hear God, that’s up to you. I’m just giving you insight.
I want God to speak in my life, my situations, my family, my country, etc so I’m dealing with any triggers or stubbornness in my life so He is FREE to speak.
It’s crazy but we miss God, destiny, freedom, etc all because we want things, attitudes, or people in our lives more than His voice! That should show you we are bound! Mercy Lord!
4) Consider your motives for hearing from God.
Many times we are going from person to person for prophecy although we haven’t obeyed His first prophecy (His Word) or we don’t believe we have to do things right or the Way He said it.
Sometimes we pray for things that weren’t an earnest desire. You are His children, let’s let His Spirit direct our pursuits! Read James 4:2-4
5. The Voice of God Brings Faith – you know you’ve heard the Lord when it increases your faith!
A lot of people with a lot of doubts seem to have a lot of good answers but there is no power. If there is no fruit of faith & power, then there’s good reason to believe it wasn’t a God root.
The voice of the Lord doesn’t agree with our doubt or the emotional pain of loss. A man of God told me once not to interview the darkness. That means when things aren’t going well we don’t try to figure out why. We strive to hear the voice of God when things are great so that when things look dark, those great revelations and words we’ve received are now like flashlights to see through the darkness. Read: Romans 10:17, Daniel 11:32
6. The Voice of GOD brings FREEDOM
God’s voice, discernment, dreams, and wisdom don’t bring bondage, offense, or flaky actions, it produces life & freedom! So many say God is telling them to do things that don’t bear fruit, are against the Word, and get them discouraged, depressed, or offended & His voice doesn’t do that! It brings freedom!

7. Know that you are important to God
Not only did God plan for you as a Good Father, but He planned to use you as a good Captain of an army. He was the architect of you forming into the image of Christ. His plans include you becoming powerful!!!
When we intercede, He listens to us (1 Peter 3:12). We are His trusted representatives or ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:18-20) for the land & people we live in & minister to.
God had His Son die for you & would have if it was just you. He made sure you made it here so you could change the fabric of society we live in. You are important & powerful.

8. Recognize that God communicates in many forms.
a. He speaks through His Word
b. He speaks through His quiet voice
c. He speaks through our conscience
d. He speaks through friends & family,
e. He speaks through authorities (if it’s in line with His Word)
f. He speaks through signs – numbers, billboards, movies, closed doors (not always), open doors (not always), etc
g. He speaks through peace – I follow the peace of my spirit man
h. Pain- IF we haven’t listened to His Spirit, His Word, or People, then pain comes in.
I. He speaks in dreams – when we are finally still 🫶
j. He speaks in impressions or knowing in our spirits (in our bodies with Words of knowledge) – 1 John 2:20
k. There is more this is a great start.
9. Renew your mind – one of the biggest reasons we don’t hear God is our minds are not renewed (Romans 12:2) by His Word. I heard a prophet say that as much as you read the Word you hear His voice. He is His Word so renewing & coming INTO AGREEMENT with the Word opens our senses to His voice.
10. Invite the LIVING Word to help you when you read the WRITTEN Word – ask the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17, 16:13) into your daily reading. Don’t read just to follow the reading plan, read to hear His voice & get revelation.
11. Prioritize God’s voice above every other. Bad company corrupts good character. 1 Corinthians 15:33
We don’t want to say bad nowadays so let’s just say contrary character corrupts good character. When God is speaking but your company is contrary you can lose the voice of God.
Secondly, don’t fall into the the fear of man scheme (Proverbs 29:25). Prioritize, value & Honor His voice, truth, & Ways above everyone else’s & you will regularly hear His voice.
12. Set aside time to regularly listen to God. Practice makes it powerful. Regular secret places, regular stretching to hear His voice for others, regular meditating on His Words, & regular revelation hunting (rereading with the intent for His voice) will cause you to hear His voice expediently. Matthew 7:24-27…practices strengthen your foundations.
13. Pray for the Kingdom other’s needs that don’t benefit you. This is selfless. How can we hear from a selfless God while remaining selfish in our prayers???? As you, INTERCEDE & pray for your enemies, those that He leads you to outside of you, & outside your family, your heart begins to mature just like His. (Matthew 5:43-48)
14. Praise & Praying in tongues – praise & praying in tongues builds yourself up in the Holy Spirit to the place you came to hear God (1 Samuel 30:6, Jude 1:20)
15. Believe That Every Situation is Possible – You won’t begin to hear God for anyone’s situation or anything you need to hear from Him about if you don’t believe it’s possible. 2 Kings 3 shows how Jehoshaphat didn’t look at the depth of the depravity but the greatness of His deliverer & God spoke a Word that brought the miracle! Every situation is possible!
16. Repentance – ask the Lord if there is anything not pleasing to Him in your life, character, or family & watch how repentance opens the heavens again!
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,”
