Don’t Be Caught by This Trap!

Insecurity & Pain from the past can stop our Destiny!

When God showed up, Gideon & Saul responded with doubt, pain from the past, and insecurity! If you read their life they end up selling out later on in their life.

The enemy uses pain, insecurity, & our need to validate these with pity to ruin our destiny.

There is a saying, “misery loves company”…I’m going to go on a limb & say misery loves company more than destiny 🤯.

Careful! You are a Spirit man (woman) who has emotions. Don’t let the emotions, processes, or strongholds speak louder than His voice & promise

God has already come to you just like Gideon but maybe you are talking yourself down from God’s table of greatness instead of talking yourself to answer the call!

Here are a couple of things that will help:

1. No matter how much your misery is looking for company it is like rust eating at your destiny.

2. Misery is a spirit that’s after your surrender, not a feeling that satisfies you

3. It’s never enough! No matter what people do for you or you do for those with misery, it never suffices! It’s a demonic void, not an emotional one. But the demon has convinced these people it’s a legitimate emotional need you should fulfill.

4. It’s linked to temporary things & not eternal things. It’s focused on ME, not Him. That’s how you know where it’s from

5. It always looks for people to comfort it because it knows God never authored its plea

6. It expects people to take its abusive behavior so it can be loved. The problem is, that allowing emotional, intellectual, relational, etc abuse never satisfies or heals this because it’s demonic. So it won’t serve the person’s freedom but empower their bondage.

7. You only get freedom by acknowledging it for what it is—reaching out to a wrong thing for a right need. “Jesus, I keep using people to fill a need only You can supply”. I repent of insecurity & holding life as hostage for my pain”.

8. Paint new expectations- we live in a war, not a Disneyland vacation. Nobody owes us anything but God gives us His Grace & mercy. Start a new habit of recognizing old triggers but now turning to your Savior instead of people.

“And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Gideon said to Him, “O my Lord if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”
‭‭Judges‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But as for your donkeys that were lost three days ago, do not be anxious about them, for they have been found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on you and on all your father’s house?” And Saul answered and said, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak like this to me?”
‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭9‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV

Humility is like our Heavenly Father. Jesus was God but didn’t ask for worshippers, He asked for followers of His Ways which were just His Fathers for an example for us. That’s humility.

Worship is the Start but Not the Finish

I worship quite a bit. I’m in the secret place. I talk about the secret place a lot but people think worship alone will awaken people, equip them, convict them, change them, or send them but it’s just the start & the foundation for all of the above.
